AUSTIN (KXAN) — Former President Donald Trump overwhelmingly won Texas’ Republican presidential primary on March 5, defeating former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, as well as several other candidates who appeared on the ballot.
Trump received more than three-quarters of all votes cast in Texas, as well as a majority in every county in Texas. Haley was a very distant second, with about 17% of the vote.
Trump’s final margin over Haley statewide was more than 1.4 million votes.
KXAN has mapped precinct-level results in counties across the state to get a better picture of how Texans voted.
At this time, precinct-level results are available in 174 of Texas’ 254 counties. The map below will be updated when additional data becomes available.

We currently have results data for 8,749 precincts across Texas. At least one vote was cast in 8,233 of those precincts.
Trump won the most votes in 8,021 precincts, while Haley won 156 precincts. Vivek Ramaswamy won two precincts, while the “uncommitted” ballot option received the most votes in two precinct. A total of 52 precincts saw a tied result.
Trump’s strongest margins were primarily in rural parts of the state. He won 100% of the vote in 303 precincts and at least 90% of the vote in a further 795 precincts.
Haley’s strongest margins were in larger cities, primarily Austin. Sixty-nine of the 156 precincts she won were in Travis County alone. She also won more than 20 precincts in both Dallas and Harris counties.
